Visiting Professor of History and Philosophy of Cognitive Science and Neuroscience, Spring 2025

University of Pittsburgh, Department of History and Philosophy of Science,  Rank:  Open Rank, History and Philosophy of Science, One term visitor, beginning January 1, 2025.     AOS:  History and/or Philosophy of Cognitive Science and/or Neuroscience  AOC: Open (including the philosophy of AI)   The Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh seeks candidates to fill a position as a Visiting Professor specializing in History and/or Philosophy of Cognitive Science and/or Neuroscience.   Required Qualifications: (1) A PhD in History and Philosophy of Science, Philosophy or a closely related field expected by the proposed start date; (2) a promising research agenda in History and/or Philosophy of Cognitive Science and/or Neuroscience, and (3) exhibit interest in integrating history and philosophy of science as well as in-depth knowledge of the science or sciences relevant to their research.      Responsibilities:  One undergraduate  course and one graduate course Applicants should submit a CV (including a research statement) and a list of at least three letters of recommendation.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  Please do not upload letters of recomendation to the website.  Rather, please send all letters to Matt Ceraso at [email protected].      In addition, applicants should provide a brief personal statement that addresses their contributions to diversity through research, teaching, service and/or community engagement.
