Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, University of Washington, Seattle Description: The Department of Philosophy at the University of Washington, Seattle invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Philosophy with Area of Specialization (AOS): Philosophy of Science, and Area of Concentration (AOC): Open. This is a full-time, tenure eligible position with an anticipated start date of September 2025. Tenure track faculty have an annual service period of nine months (Sept 16-June 15). All University of Washington faculty engage in research, teaching, and service. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a robust research program that complements existing scholarship in the department; teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels; serve on dissertation committees and mentor graduate and undergraduate students; actively participate in service to the university, profession, and broader communities; and promote a diverse and inclusive community of faculty, staff, and students. Washington State Law requires that this ad list a binding salary range. The base salary range for this position will be $9250 -12,500/month on a 9-month basis ($83,250 - $112,500 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Qualifications: Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or foreign equivalent in philosophy, or a closely allied field, by the start of the appointment.
