The Philosophy, Politics and Economics Program at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher, beginning Fall 2025 (appointment start date July 1, 2025. This position is designed to support a talented political philosopher or a philosopher of social science. Specific duties will include teaching each semester one advanced interdisciplinary seminar of their choice, and each year one research seminar to train a small number of students to conduct research in their field. The Postdoctoral Researcher will also be invited to conduct research in collaboration with Professor Bicchieri and members of the Center for Social Norms and Behavioral Dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania. The appointment will be for an initial year with the possibility of annual renewal for up to an additional four years, contingent upon satisfactory performance review and approval by the Dean. You can find out more about Penn’s PPE program on our website: https://ppe.sas.upenn.edu/ The position is open to candidates who have recently earned or will earn their Ph.D. Close familiarity with experimental methods of experimentation is important. In particular, experience in conducting field, lab-based and web-based experiments is desirable. A successful candidate must demonstrate an outstanding capacity to generate original research questions and implement studies to investigate those questions.
