Job description

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at NC State invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a focus on Ancient or Early Modern Philosophy. We seek a scholar whose expertise will enrich and complement the department’s existing strengths.   Key Responsibilities:

    • Teaching: Instruct courses in the history of philosophy, including advanced undergraduate levels. The ability to teach an intermediate course on metaphysics is highly desirable.
    • Research and Publication: Conduct and publish high-quality research in ancient or early modern philosophy, contributing to the broader academic discourse.
    • Service: Participate actively in departmental, college, and university service.

 Teaching Load: 2 courses per semester.
