Job description |
The Philosophy Program at Idaho State University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position, beginning in fall 2025, at the rank of Assistant Professor. The area of specialization is open, but applicants should have expertise in medical ethics and be prepared and interested to teach core undergraduate and graduate-level courses in our certificate programs in biomedical ethics. The successful applicant will demonstrate strength in both teaching and research, with potential for developing a research program leading to publications that make a significant contribution to one or more areas of philosophy. The normal teaching load for tenure-track faculty is three courses per semester. As a college, we pride ourselves on being a community of scholars who make meaningful, professional contributions to our disciplines, departments, university, and community. This includes being passionate about providing outstanding learning opportunities for our students, many of whom are first-generation college students from Idaho. We also pride ourselves on our commitment to working collaboratively with other members of the department to achieve university goals to meet our collective mission. Our goal in the College of Arts and Letters is to work together in putting students first, and we expect all our faculty to embrace this core value. Key Responsibilities
