The Assistant Director of the Saul Kripke Center reports to the Distinguished Professor.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Conducts academic research associated with the Center’s work; assists faculty, staff, and students in conducting research associated with the Center's work.
- Researches, builds, and maintains the Center's audio, digital, and paper archives, and provides access to the archive and research assistance to visiting scholars.
- Supports the Center’s core activities by researching and applying for grants.
- Collaborates on research projects with graduate students and other students.
- Maintains and improves the Center’s website and social media presence.
- Contributes to the intellectual life of the Graduate Center by arranging lectures and conferences on the Center's work.
- Develops research plans and proposals; writes progress reports.
- Adheres to standards for safety, hygiene, and ethical conduct as defined by the University and relevant outside parties.
- Engages in the transcription and editing of manuscripts for potential publication.
- Engages in targeted fundraising on behalf of the Center.
- Performs other research related duties as assigned.

This position will begin no later than August 2025 and requires the incumbent to work in person. 

Qualifications:

A preferred candidate should have:


- Familiarity with archival work.
- A robust knowledge of Kripke's contributions to Philosophy, Logic, and/or Mathematics.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills, including sound judgment and decision-making skills, and the ability to identify problems and recommend strategic solutions.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to multitask to meet deadlines.
- Proven experience in organizing and executing events.
- Proven experience in grant writing, grant management, and/or non-profit fundraising.
- The ability to work regular hours (35 hours/week), including during the Summer. 

General Duties:

Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others. 

- Develops research plans and proposals and participates in acquiring funding

- Collects, analyzes, and assures validity of data

- Writes progress reports; writes and publishes findings

- Collaborates with internal and external colleagues

- Adheres to standards for safety and hygiene and ethical conduct as defined by the University and relevant outside parties
