Assistant Professor (Education) (EXPIRED)

Full Time Faculty, Assistant Professor in Philosophy, School of Social Sciences (SOSS)  

The School of Social Sciences, Singapore Management University, invites applications for two faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank (education track). We are looking for candidates who do active research on either AI or Environmental Ethics with a disciplinary grounding in philosophy. They must be able to teach undergraduate courses on either AI or Environmental Ethics. Experience in teaching Moral Philosophy, Applied Ethics, or Political Philosophy would also be an advantage. 

These positions require a doctorate in Philosophy and teaching experience at the tertiary level. We are seeking candidates with demonstrated excellent teaching ability, as well as a good scholarly research record. Education track faculty teach six course sections per academic year, which is approximately nine hours of teaching per week for each semester. Course sections are capped at no more than 48 students. In addition to teaching, education track faculty are also expected to engage in research and perform internal service activities such as curriculum design and review.

The successful candidates will be expected to start at Singapore Management University in either July 2025 or January 2026.
