Job description |
A one-year postdoctoral position (from October 2025 to September 2026) is available at Tel Aviv University. It is associated with, and made available through, Israel Science Foundation grant no. 570/23 (“Explanation First: A Generalized Idealist Theory of Explanatory Structure”; Principal Investigator: David Mark Kovacs). Applicants are being sought whose area of specialization overlaps with the topic of explanation, broadly understood (including but not limited to the metaphysics and epistemology of grounding, metaphysical explanation, scientific explanation, and causation). Candidates with a proven record of excellence are encouraged to apply even if their work is only indirectly related to the topic of explanation. The post carries an annual tax-free stipend of 116,700 NIS. Additional funding is available for travel to conferences. Applications should include a research proposal, CV, a maximum of three letters of recommendation, and a sample of written work (max. 10000 words - for longer pieces, candidates are requested to designate a 10k word-long portion as their writing sample).
