Teaching Assistant Professor

The Philosophy Department is hiring a full-time teaching assistant professor for 2025-26 academic year. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the Core Curriculum: the introductory Philosophy course required of all students, PHIL 1001, and the senior seminar required of all students, CORE 4929, as well as other courses as assigned. We are especially interested in candidates who are also able to teach some or all of the following courses: Business Ethics, History and Philosophy of Crime and Punishment, and Logic.

The successful candidate(s) will teach 4 courses per semester. They will have full responsibility for the sections they are teaching, including course and syllabus preparation and grading exams and papers. Instructors must maintain a minimum of three office hours per week.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities: Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Five years of teaching experience or other suitable professional experience.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities: Commitment to teaching critical thinking skills. Knowledge of effective and inclusive teaching techniques and strategies. Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching. Willingness to collaborate and engage with other departmental and university faculty.
