| Job description |
This is a full-time teaching position for a visiting scholar, with the possibility of extending the contract. This position entails teaching three courses per semester on the History of Political Thought and Political Theory. Semester lasts 15 weeks (14 teaching weeks), each course comprising of 45 contact hours per semester. The starting date is September 1, 2025 or January 1, 2026, though it is recommended for a successful candidate to plan to arrive two or three weeks in advance. Applicants should be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. They should hold a PhD degree with a publication record in the field. BISLA is a small (70 students altogether) liberal arts college--the only college of this kind in Slovakia. It is a leader in education, ranking first in the OECD's ranking of higher education institutions in Slovakia and the top 16th percentile internationally.
