Job description

The University of Cologne invites applications for a 2-year postdoc position in conjunction with the Cologne Center for Contemporary Epistemology and the Kantian Tradition (CONCEPT).

Job Description. The successful candidate has a Ph.D. in philosophy by September 1, 2025, and has contemporary epistemology as their area of specialization. Competence in Kantian Philosophy is desirable. The teaching  load is 2 courses per semester (or four hours per week). The successful candidate will be expected to regularly attend team meetings and lectures  and to help organize events held at CONCEPT. Information on CONCEPT can be found here https://concept.phil-fak.uni-koeln.de/  Research communication skills, new media literacy, and experience in grant writing are also desirable. Knowledge of the German language is useful but not required. It is not necessary to have citizenship of an EU member state.

Job title & start date. The German job title is "Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter" and the salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for the German public sector. The position is available immediately on a full-time basis (39,83 hours per week). The position is available from September 1, 2025 until August 31, 2027.
