It is also a part of Samuel Neaman Institute's research group on "Theoretical Foundations of Ethics and Technology" which aims to develop a solid theoretical infrastructure for ethical questions concerning technology and to address the growing ethical and moral challenges posed by technological advancement to individuals, institutions, and entire societies.

The successful candidate will contribute to research with two complementary components:

Theoretical Foundations of Technology Ethics: Contributing to the development of a shared conceptual vocabulary around ethics and technology; identifying and analyzing central ethical challenges posed by contemporary technologies, including concrete questions relating to the nexus of moral responsibility and technological innovation.
  2. Political Philosophy of Technology with Virtue Ethics: Theoretical research combining political philosophy of technology with contemporary virtue ethics approaches, examining our collective duties to human flourishing. The project will address issues of distributive justice as well as the meaning of concepts like human agency, joint action and human skill in the age of disruptive technology.
