Job description |
The Ethics Program of Villanova University seeks candidates for a continuing non-tenure track position as an assistant teaching professor.Candidates must specialize in ethics and show command of philosophical and Christian ethics, as well as engagement with applied ethics. Successful candidates will have a clear commitment to advancing the University’s mission and values. Responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load (ETH 2050: The Good Life Ethics and Contemporary Moral Problems is the primary course) and service for the program. Faculty have an opportunity to teach an ethics elective once a year after their first year. While there is no research expectation, faculty are expected to remain current in their field of expertise. A Ph.D. should be in hand by August 1, 2026. There is a promotion process for faculty in this position. This position is not to be confused with the Catherine of Siena Teaching Scholar position that is currently advertised. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian Order.
