The Department of Management along with the Patrick J. Waide Center for Applied Ethics at Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Business Ethics, starting Fall 2026 (pending final budgetary approval). Candidates must have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in management, business ethics, philosophy, or a closely related field by the start date. We seek candidates with a demonstrated ability to publish high-quality, relevant research in peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate will have a specialization in business ethics, with preferred competencies in related areas of applied ethics, law, or management. Preference will be given to candidates who satisfy the AACSB criteria for “Scholarly Academic.” The primary teaching responsibility will be the undergraduate course “Business Ethics,” which investigates ethical problems in business practice. In addition, the successful candidate may teach other undergraduate or graduate courses as needed by the department. Excellence in teaching, a commitment to innovation, and demonstrated effectiveness in using technology in the classroom are expected. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, weekend, Fairfield and/or Bellarmine campuses, and may be delivered face-to-face, hybrid, or online. Industry experience in business ethics, compliance, management, or related fields is highly desirable to ensure practical relevance in the classroom.
