The Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) is advertising a 

Professorship (open rank) in Theoretical Philosophy (80%–75%)

The applicant must have a doctorate with a proven specialisation in at least two of the following areas: philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, epistemology, metaphysics and philosophy of the human sciences. A habilitation or equivalent qualifications are desirable. He/she must have the necessary academic skills to teach and supervise work at Bachelor's and Master's level as well as dissertations.

The successful candidate must be able to teach in German or French. The ability to teach in the second language must be acquired within the first two years of taking up the position.

Start date: 1 August 2026
