Assistant Professor

The Shiv Nadar School of Law, Chennai invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant professor of philosophy position.

The successful applicant will be able to teach Introduction to Logic, and electives based on their area of speciality or competence. Applicants will hold a Ph.D. in philosophy by the time of appointment and provide evidence of a strong research trajectory. Applicants with masters but without Phds may be considered for a lecturer role.

Located in a lush 230-acre campus twenty minutes South of the metropolis of Chennai, and within a few kilometers of the sea, Shiv Nadar School of law Chennai is a small, elite institution that takes undergraduates for a five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and LL.B. (Law) degree. The faculty includes a broad range of scholars, about half of whom work in various parts of law. Others are drawn from economics, Sanskrit studies, philosophy and beyond. Faculty enjoy an unusual degree of freedom and support in both teaching and research. The school is entering its third year of accepting students, but is part of Shiv Nadar University and funded by the Shiv Nadar foundation, one of the largest philanthropic educational institutions in India, which has funded 11 schools, universities and literacy programs across India since 1994.
