Salary: Grade 7, £41,064 - £46,049 per annum

The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint two fixed-term Lectureships in Philosophy (Learning, Teaching & Scholarship Track).

The successful candidates will contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience by contributing to teaching, assessment and administration processes associated with undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to undertake scholarship to enhance learning and teaching in the School of Humanities within the Philosophy subject area; successful candidates will also carry out – under direction of Head of Subject (Philosophy) - course and administration within required timescales ensuring effective communication of information, in particular assessment requirements and criteria and timely and constructive feedback on assessment.

While the AOS for these posts is open, we expect candidates to have competence in one or more of: social and political philosophy; ethics; epistemology; philosophy of mind; and, more generally, the ability to contribute to teaching needs in the department.

These posts are full-time (35 hours per week), and fixed term until 30th May 2029 and 30th May 2030, respectively (both with an anticipated start date of 5th January 2026). Applicants can specify in their cover letter whether they wish to be considered for both or just one of the posts.
