The Department of Philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a Distinguished Professorship in Healthcare Ethics, beginning August 2026. Rank: Associate Professor or Professor, rank to be determined at time of appointment. We seek a person with significant national and/or international stature in bioethics who is prepared to engage in public outreach. AOS: Bioethics, broadly construed, with research and teaching interests in areas such as (but not limited to) medical/healthcare ethics, research ethics, public health ethics, disability ethics, reproductive ethics, environmental ethics, etc. AOC: Open, but candidates should be prepared to teach courses in medical ethics and contribute to the interdisciplinary degree program in Health and Medical Humanities (https://healthhum.charlotte.edu/). |
