Tenure-Track Open-Rank Position

The Department of Philosophy at The University of Haifa invites outstanding candidates to apply for a full-time, tenure-track position in Philosophy, to commence on October 1, 2026. The position is open to candidates in all ranks. AOS/AOC is open.

Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in Philosophy (or a closely related field) by the time of the appointment, and have a demonstrated record of excellence in research. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.

Duties include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service to the department and university. Faculty members are further expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students pursuing M.A. and Ph.D. degrees. The normal annual teaching load is 3-4 semester courses per year. 

The principal language of instruction in the department is Hebrew, but some courses are taught in English. Candidates who do not speak Hebrew will be expected to acquire the ability to teach in Hebrew within two years of their appointment.
