The Philosophy Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year leave replacement at the rank of Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2026. The area of specialization is Ethics, broadly construed, with an AOC in Africana Philosophy; East Asian Philosophy; Indian Philosophy; Native American Philosophy; Islamic, Middle Eastern, or North African Philosophy; Latin American Philosophy; or Philosophy of Race. We seek candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with broadly diverse student populations while contributing to a vibrant learning community that values academic freedom, creativity, and intellectual curiosity. The Philosophy Department at Hamilton College is collegial and philosophically diverse, with a strong commitment to innovative undergraduate instruction, robust research, and accessible scholarship. Candidates with ABD will be considered, although candidates with a Ph.D. are preferred. The expected 9-month base salary range for this position is $77,900 to $80,400.
