Description
The Amherst College Department of Philosophy invites applications for a full-time, one-year visiting appointment at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. The area of specialization is open. Candidates are encouraged to learn more about Amherst by visiting our web page for prospective faculty. The appointment will begin on July 1, 2026. In addition to teaching two courses per semester, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise senior honors projects and participate in the life of the department. Candidates must have met all requirements for a Ph.D. in philosophy by the start of the appointment. The salary offered will vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, training, and experience, tenure status, and other nondiscriminatory business considerations.
