Job description

CLEMSON UNIVERSITY, CLEMSON, SC. Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy, one year position renewable for up to 3 years. Employment to begin August 15, 2026. Ph.D. in Philosophy required at that time.  AOS: Philosophy of law, AOC open. The successful candidate will be expected to teach core courses in the Law, Liberty, and Justice concentration of the philosophy major: Intro to Law, Liberty, and Justice; Philosophy of Law; Crime and Punishment. The ability to teach social and political philosophy as well as other intro-level classes would be an asset. The teaching load is 3/3 and includes introductory and upper-level courses. Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, a syllabus for an upper division course in Philosophy of Law, evidence of teaching effectiveness (maximum 10 pages), a teaching statement including a list of courses taught, and three letters of recommendation, at least one of which speaks teaching to Interfolio by March 23, 2026.
