Department Head of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Pennsylvania State University, College of the Liberal Arts, invites applications and nominations for the position of Head in the Department of Philosophy. The position is to be filled at the rank of tenured Professor, effective July 1, 2015. Applicants should have scholarly credentials commensurate with such a rank at major research universities, administrative experience or evidence of administrative potential, have the ability to manage the on-going grant and development activities of the department, and be able to contribute to the department’s philosophical strengths, which include continental philosophy, American philosophy, feminist philosophy, critical philosophy of race, and the history of philosophy. The Dean is prepared to make investments commensurate with maintaining and improving the department`s national and international reputation. Interested parties should submit a formal letter of application and current curriculum vitae. Applications received by October 13, 2014 will be given full consideration.
