Job description

The Blog of the American Philosophical Association seeks series editors for several series. Series editors work under the supervision of the Beat’s editor. Series editors are responsible for publishing one to two posts a month. Responsibilities include:

  • Soliciting posts from the philosophical community,

  • Managing communication with potential contributors,

  • Submitting posts to the managing editor through WordPress,

  • Moderating comments on their posts.

Series editors must be members of the APA in good standing and will be provided training by the Blog of the APA. Benefits of being a series editor include:

  • Building your professional network,

  • Exploring topics related to your philosophical interests and deepening your awareness of the research landscape,

  • Gaining professional experience in copyediting, project management, and web content management systems.

All series editors are trained by the Blog of the APA. Series editors hold voluntary positions that provide a great opportunity to build a network in philosophy. If you are interested in being considered, email a letter of interest and CV to the beat editor listed for the series you are interested in with the subject line “Series Editor Application,” followed by the name of the series you are applying for. If you do not include the relevant application materials, your application will be immediately dismissed. Apply by August 1, 2026.
