The Department of Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem invites applications for a one-year post-doctoral fellowship, with the possibility of renewal, starting on (or around) 1 October, 2026. Suitable candidates will have a specialization in one or more of the following areas: moral psychology, philosophy of mind, value theory and normativity. To be eligible, applicants must have received their PhD no more than five years before the start of the position; that is, on or after 1 October, 2021. Candidates who have not yet completed their PhD may apply, provided the degree is conferred before the position begins. The post is associated with, and made available through, Israel Science Foundation Research Grant no. 3136/24 (“The Normativity of Emotions”; Principal Investigators: Oded Na’aman, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Eli Pitcovski, Tel-Hai University). A brief description of the research project is available here. The post carries a yearly stipend of 120,000 New Israeli Shekels (approx. $40,000) per annum. In addition, travel funds will be made available to the post-holder to attend conferences etc. Applications should include a brief research proposal (no more than two pages), a CV, a list of publications, the names and contact details of three referees (whom we may contact for letters of recommendation later in the process), and a sample of written work (a chapter from the doctoral dissertation or a recent publication). All materials should be sent to [email protected]. Informal inquiries should also be sent to this address. The deadline for receiving applications is 2 August, 2026. |
