The School of Philosophy at University College Dublin seeks to appoint a full-time, fixed-term Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Philosophy and Cognitive Science. The duration of the appointment will be 36 months, commencing 1st January 2027. The appointee will initially be expected to design, deliver and assess the following modules:
The Cognitive Science MSc is an interdisciplinary graduate programme hosted by the School of Philosophy and involving contributions from multiple Schools and subjects from across UCD. The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver engaging lectures and seminars to students from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds, and to engage with philosophical and scientific debates within a diverse and pluralist School of Philosophy. 1. a 12-week Introduction to Cognitive Science undergraduate module, and
2. a 12-week Empirical Methods in the Mind Sciences module suitable for MA/MSc students with no prior scientific or mathematical experience.
