Job description

The Law & Ethics Area at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Business Ethics, beginning in Fall 2027.
The Area's research focuses on normative business ethics, and we are looking for a colleague whose work engages moral and political philosophy and brings them to bear on business, markets, and organizations. Areas of ongoing faculty interest include virtue and character, the moral limits of markets, moral psychology, organizational justice, corporate governance and the firm as a political institution, and the ethics of emerging technologies. Work that draws on economics, political theory, or the social sciences is welcome. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to publishing in leading journals and to the Area's tradition of excellence in teaching.
Faculty in the Area teach across the undergraduate and graduate programs. The Gabelli School enrolls approximately three thousand students on two campuses, at Lincoln Center in Manhattan and Rose Hill in the Bronx, and has a strong institutional focus on ethics and justice. Further information about the Area is available at https://www.fordham.edu/gabelli-school-of-business/faculty/academic-areas/law-and-ethics/, and about the Fordham Ethics in Business Seminar Series at https://www.fordham.edu/gabelli-school-of-business/faculty/academic-areas/law-and-ethics/ethics-in-business-seminar-series/.
Candidates who expect to complete the degree by July 1, 2027, are eligible.
Applications should include a cover letter with a research statement and a description of teaching interests, a curriculum vitae, three letters of reference, and a writing sample. All materials should be submitted by October 1, 2026, through Interfolio at https://apply.interfolio.com/190286.
Inquiries may be directed to Miguel Alzola, Professor of Business Ethics, at [email protected].
