Job description

The University of Vermont’s Philosophy Department invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Lecturer. The position will start in Fall 2027, and the expectation is that the position will renew on an ongoing basis conditional on favorable reviews.

We have teaching needs in non-Western and ancient philosophies and would welcome candidates with interests in, among others, political philosophy and AI.

The standard teaching load is 4-4. The successful candidate will teach courses at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate level. That candidate must have at least an M.A. in Philosophy. Ph.D. is preferred.
