Job description

The Department of Philosophy at Columbia University invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor/Associate Professor position in social and political philosophy, broadly construed to include historical and contemporary approaches across analytic, continental, and non-Western traditions. Area of Specialization: social and political philosophy. Area of Competence: open. The position will begin July 1, 2027. The successful candidate will teach 4 courses per year (2/2) at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise Ph.D. students, and provide service to the Department. Teaching in Columbia’s Core Curriculum may be part of the teaching load.
