Assistant Professor

PhD in Philosophy with an area of specialization in Ethical Theory/Value Theory broadly understood.  An ABD PhD with a dissertation defense by May 2027 will be considered. Application should demonstrate ability to teach upper-level undergraduate courses in the history of ethics and metaethics; ability to help cover important upper-level metaphysics, epistemology, and the history of philosophy valued. New hire will need to help cover a range of introductory-level philosophy service courses, including Introduction to Ethics, Bioethics, and Environmental Ethics, and/or Ethics of Emerging Technologies.  New hire will be encouraged to create new philosophy courses that reflect and support their research interests.  It is expected that the new hire will initiate and carry out research and sustain a program of scholarly publication and be willing to engage in constructive service at program, department, college, university and professional levels.
