UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME. The Program of Liberal Studies (PLS) seeks to fill a tenure-track position in philosophy, beginning Fall 2016. PLS is a Great Books department with 120 undergraduate majors; it was founded in 1950, with its own tenure-line faculty drawn from various disciplines and committed to an integrated program of studies. AOS/AOC: history of philosophy. Undergraduate teaching responsibility will be in Great Books seminars and the Program’s philosophy courses: Philosophical Inquiry, Metaphysics and Epistemology, Politics, and Ethics (see our website, http://pls.nd.edu, for course descriptions). Ph.D. required. Strong publication program, evidence of superior teaching, and a commitment to undergraduate education expected. Salary and research support more than competitive.
