Please note that reasonable proficiency in a Scandinavian language (i.e., Swedish, Danish, Norwegian) will be required for this position.

A Master's degree or equivalent is required. Philosophy or ethics is a suitable background, but applicants with relevant qualifications and a background in other fields might also be considered and are encouraged to apply. Knowledge about biotecchnology and/or agricucltural issues is an advantage, and an ability to sommunicate with representatives of goverment, industry, local communities and other stakeholders is essential.

The topic of the research project is ethical aspects of green biotechnology. The succesful candidate will work in within a research programme (Mistra Biotech) consisting of researchers from The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). The project has a strong focus on interdsicipliarity and publication in international journals.

Swedish PhD positions are for four years, extendable to a maximum of five years including departmental duties at a level of at most 20% (typically teaching). Salary will be according to KTH’s directions for PhD students.
