Susquehanna University invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to start in August 2017. Demonstrated success or evidence of potential for excellence in teaching and advising undergraduates (both majors and non-majors) is essential, as is ongoing scholarly productivity and institutional service. Teaching duties include introductory-level courses in ethics as well as courses in the area of specialization and Symbolic Logic. Our department is open to various areas of specialization, including but not limited to: non-Western philosophy, critical theory, critical philosophy of race, philosophy of religion, metaphysics, bioethics, and/or advanced ethical theory. The Department seeks someone who is grounded in the history of philosophy. We also encourage candidates who are able to contribute to the University’s diversity initiatives such as the Latino Symposium and/or the Africana Studies minor. 3/3 load.
