Assistant Professor, Philosophy and Religious Studies

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies of Dyson College of Arts and Sciences at Pace University invites applications for an anticipated faculty position at the Assistant Professor level (tenure-track) to begin September 2017. The position is located at the University's New York City campus in lower Manhattan.

Candidates must hold an earned PhD or equivalent in Religious Studies, Philosophy, or a closely related discipline. We seek a broadly trained, globally conscious scholar of religious studies with a specialization in Asian Religions. The successful candidate will have a strong grounding in critical/theoretical models in the study of religion, and should be able to approach religion by attending both to the history of ideas and to lived contexts or material cultures. Applicants should have a strong publication record rooted in a clear scholarly agenda, as well as a history of high-impact teaching and the ability to engage undergraduate students of diverse backgrounds.
