Visiting Assistant Professor or Instructor of Philosophy AOS: Applied Ethics AOC: Open Beloit College seeks a one-semester, two-course sabbatical replacement in Philosophy for the Spring 2018 semester, with the possibility of renewal for the 2018-19 academic year. The teaching load for the spring will be two courses: Biomedical Ethics and Logic. The teaching load for the following year will be a 3/2 or 3/3 and will include some combination of the courses above and Environmental Ethics, Ethical Theory, Philosophy of Law, and an upper-level seminar in some area of the applicant’s expertise. PhD or ABD and a strong commitment to successful undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts context are required. Successful applicants will have a record of excellent teaching. Preference will be given to those with a Ph.D. in philosophy or ABD by start date (January 2018).
