The Department of Philosophy at The University of Alabama is searching for a philosopher to fill a three-year renewable instructorship, beginning August 16, 2017. The instructorship is non-tenure-earning, but is renewable based on need, funding and performance. We have special needs to cover our philosophy of law courses. Other courses to be taught may include Introduction to Philosophy; Introduction to Aesthetics, Critical Thinking, or Introduction to Ethics. Ph.D. strongly preferred; evidence of teaching excellence required. To apply for the position, go to http://facultyjobs.ua.edu. When feasible, the teaching assignment will involve no more than two preparations per semester.
