Job description

The Department of Philosophy and Religion at Appalachian State University invites applications for a tenure-track nine-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2018. The requirements for the position are a Ph.D. in Philosophy, an AOS in Philosophy of Race, and an AOC in Ethics (broadly construed). Candidates who are ABD will be considered, but the position requires a Ph.D. in Philosophy to be awarded by July 1, 2018. Instructional duties will include teaching in the areas of the AOS and AOC and teaching other philosophy courses as needed. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of scholarship as well as participate in service activities.
