Job description |
Are you an academic with proven abilities to carry out teaching and research either in Moral or in Political Philosophy? Would you like to join and contribute to the vibrant philosophical community at the University of Leeds, which is distinctively embedded within the interdisciplinary school of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science? Would you be able to design and teach inspiring courses to our students in both the areas of Moral Philosophy and Political Philosophy? Would you be excited by the prospect of helping to support and develop our programme in Philosophy, Politics and Economics? As a Lecturer, you will carry out research either in Moral or Political Philosophy (or both) and be willing and able to teach in areas of both Moral and Political Philosophy. You will be able to teach at all levels of our varied undergraduate programmes, and to provide dissertation supervision. You will also contribute to relevant MA programmes and supervise research students. You will also contribute to the effective management of the School, Faculty and wider University. You will have a PhD in Philosophy or cognate discipline and relevant teaching experience. You will have an excellent research record and a potential for establishing an international reputation. |

5. A teaching statement (max 1,000) words) e.g. modules you might like to teach at Leeds, experience of teaching, statement of approach to teaching, experience of teaching in different formats or evidence from course evaluation questionnaires.
