Description
The Georgetown Institute for the Study of Markets and Ethics at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business seeks applications for a Junior Faculty Fellowship in Ethics. As part of its mission to advance scholarship and the teaching of ethics in universities and professional schools, the Institute offers Junior Faculty Fellowships in Ethics to new PhDs or recent PhDs in non-tenure-track positions who wish to pursue a career in teaching and researching applied ethics. This is a one-year fellowship. The fellowship is open to recent PhDs in normative disciplines such as philosophy, political science, and public policy, as well as to recent law graduates who hold a PhD in a cognate field. Compensation is highly competitive. The appointment is for the period from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. We have one opening for the 2026-2027 academic year. This fellowship is designed to provide the training and experience essential to becoming a successful university-level teacher of applied ethics. GISME Junior Fellows teach two sections of an ethics course per year in either MSB or Georgetown’s philosophy department, collaborate with GISME faculty on other courses, and receive the support of Georgetown's ethics faculty to produce quality scholarship during their time in residence. Fellows also participate in GISME’s academic symposia and its ongoing project to develop innovative tools and techniques to improve the teaching of applied and professional ethics. Fellows are required to produce at least one article of publishable quality during the term of the fellowship. |
